Sensory-Friendly Performance: Madagascar a Musical Adventure at Broward Center

Sun Oct 7, 2018

This performance is intended to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities. To create a sensory-friendly setting, slight adjustments have been made to the production including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects. An area adjacent to the theater has been designated as a quiet zone with specially trained volunteers to provide audience support.

Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto our stage in the musical journey of a lifetime. Madagascar – A Musical Adventure follows all of your favorite crack a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected voyage to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. The wild characters and an upbeat score leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”
