The 20th Anniversary of Rhythm Foundation is been celebrated at CIFO Art Space through March 2008. The event features an exhibition of videos, photos and memorabilia spamming 20 years of continuous work by the local organization. Photos from the early days of Rhythm Foundation from Jeena O’Sant Ji’s collection, recent photos from Luis Olazabal, backstage photos, video from Africa Fete, the North Beach Bandshell and Artime Theater shows, and comfy couches for you to enjoy them on.

Film Night: Festival in the Desert. Wednesday March 19th, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Robert Plant, Ali Farka Toure, Tinawaren, Oumou Sangare and moreImagine a Festival site so remote it could only be reached by camelback or 4×4 – five hours outside Timbuktu in the Sahara Desert, 2003. A day filled with camel racing, impromptu jam sessions under camel-skin tents, and a stage full of electric guitars.

Pink Martini After Concert Party. Friday, March 21st, 10:00 p.m.

Pink Martini performs at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, with The Miami Pops Orchestra, produced by Concert Association of Florida. The after show party features a performance by Life Project

Film Night: Moro No Brasil. Wednesday, March 26th, 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Finnish director Mike Kaurismaki passionate musical road trip throughout Brazil, with unparalleled access to the diversity and richness of Brazilian music, reaching far beyond samba and bossa nova. Kaurismaki traveled more than 4000 km, stopping in Pernambuco, Bahi and Rio. The film includes performances by more than 40 groups including Seu Jorge, Silverio Pessoa, Margareth Menezes, Ivo Meirelles and many more. Preshow live music by Ramatis Moraes.

Six Degrees Records presents Dub Miami featuring Gaudi (London). Thursday, March 27th, 9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

A night of dubbed global beats by Gaudi, one of the UK’s most innovative and in demand producers. His new release is Dub Qawwali for Six Degrees, his remix of the music of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Also performing is Jef Stott, with DJ sets by Bob Duskis and The Worker.
