Deering Estate. From Jan 31st through Feb 14th, 2008.
The SoBay Festival of the Arts is an annual celebration of the literary, performing and visual arts that takes place at the Deering Estate. This year's festival will kick off with the opening of the exhibition entitled ArtSoBay on January 31st, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Distinguished South Florida artists will showcase their diverse styles and expressions in a variety of artistic mediums in this exhibition curated by David Castillo, in collaboration with LegalArt. Innovative and original musical pieces will also be performed by the Miami String Project, a group of top student performers from around the county.

Children, ages 6-10, can enjoy a “Paper Sculpture Class” with Pepe Mar, who is an Artist in Residence at the Deering Estate.
Saturday, February 9th, 2008. 11:00 a.m.
A curator’s tour and lunch with David Castillo. The tour of the ArtSoBay Exhibit, located in the Artist Village at the Estate.
Sunday, February 10th, 2008. 6:00 p.m.
Enjoy a Classical Piano Recital titled “Celebration of the Arts,” featuring Jose Perez. Limited Seating. Advance tickets recommended.
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008. 7:00 p.m.
The South Florida Writer’s Association presents an evening of Poetry and Opera.
Thursday, February 14th, 2008. 8:00 p.m.
The festival will end on a romantic note with the 9th Annual “Moonlight and Music” Valentine’s Day Concert. The concert will feature guitarist Eric Hansen, and the Hansenhaus Sextet, who will delight audiences with the sounds of Flamenco, Jazz and Classical Guitar.
