Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps Makes its South Florida Debut at the Miracle Theatre

Through Jun 5, 2011.

altMix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of merry mayhem and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced, hilarious whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! In this two-time Tony Award winner, a cast of four hilariously reenacts over 150 eccentric characters from Hitchcock’s 1935 film thriller using just a few props, split-second quick changes, and plenty of theatrical ingenuity.

In The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow, an average man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death- defying finale. A riotous blend of brilliant performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of nonstop laughs and Hitchcock’s special brand of romance, intrigue and espionage. The longest running comedy on Broadway, The 39 Steps is perfect for audiences of all ages.
