From December 5 through 9, 2012.
For the first time in its five year history, Art Asia Miami will be presenting a special section dedicated to contemporary art from the South Asian subcontinent. New York based curator, Jasmine Wahi, has been selected to curate an exhibition that specifically explores some of the fantastic work coming out of the region and its far-reaching diasporic communities.
Salaam Bombay: Beauty and Chaos within the Urban Environment is a homage to the idea of the urban environment and all of the elements big and small that make city spaces so unique. It explores different elements of urban life from social dichotomy to the complexly graceful topography of the cosmopolitan landscape. Salaam Bombay will also be presented in Each/One, a new digital exhibition platform to be launched in December, which provides curators, galleries, and art fairs a new venue to exhibit cohesive shows.
With galleries participating from Asia, North America, Europe, and the Middle East, Art Asia 2012 celebrates and honors our mission to present the best of established and emerging contemporary artists from throughout Asia, uniting a vibrant, growing community of international artists and enthusiasts.
