Further expanding its engagement beyond the core art world, Art Basel is delighted to announce Art Basel Inside, a multi-faceted cultural experience offering thought leaders from diverse fields and industries the opportunity to share visions and engage with the issues facing the world today. Creating a context for these conversations, Marc-Olivier Wahler, Director of the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, Geneva, will curate a three-day immersive arts program. Art Basel Inside, programmed by Art Basel and curated by Marc-Olivier Wahler, will take place in Abu Dhabi from February 14 to February 16, 2020 and is hosted in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
Thematic journeys, site-specific installations and commissioned performances will be complemented by dynamic dialogues and workshops with visionary guest speakers from the worlds of technology and science, addressing topics such as intelligence, environments, sustainability, and the role of the arts. Smaller break-out sessions will allow for more in-depth conversations and exchanges, with a focus on challenging conventional notions and discussing alternative pathways for the future.
