ArtCenter/South Florida Offers $100,000 to Miami Filmmakers

Through Sat Sep 8, 2018

ArtCenter/South Florida has stepped in to make independent film production a reality for local filmmakers: $100,000 to fund two features film shot in Miami. The New Cinematic Arts Residency will be led by Jason Fitzroy Jeffers, a local filmmaker and the director and co-founder of the Third Horizon Film Festival. He says the program fills a void for those, like him, who have found themselves with a successful short film but nowhere else to go from there.

*Also essential to these projects: the films must be shot in Miami and tell a compelling story through that setting.

The Art Center is taking applications now though Sept, 18, 2018. The two winners for the funding will be announced in November. Visit artcentersf.org/cinematicarts.
