Mad Cat Theatre presents Macbeth and the Monster

For Mad Cat Theatre Company’s 12th season, Miami’s very own original gangbusters fighting for your right to see new work with a healthy dose of why not attitude theatre company will be back at The Light Box at the Goldman Warehouse with an inventive new play Macbeth and the Monster by Angela Berliner which has previously only been seen at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles.

Mat Cat will create some theatre magic like it has never done before with the story of little Macbeth, because all little Macbeth wants is a bedtime story to help him fall asleep. But when his mom tells him the scary story of Macbeth and the Monster, he gets more than he bargained for.

Angela Berliner is a playwright, actor, and the Creative Director and Co-Founder of L’Enfant Terrible – a theater company dedicated to all-ages theater (www.lenfantterrible.org). L’Enfant Terrible (with the Bootleg Theater) in Los Angeles, produced Macbeth and the Monster, Hamlet Prince of Puddles, King O’Leary, and Titus the Clownicus. At the Actors’ Gang in Los Angeles, Berliner co-founded the Summer Children’s Theater Initiative where her All Ages plays Cymbeline the Puppet King, King O’Leary, Titus the Clownicus, and Pericles on the High Seas were produced. The Actors’ Gang also produced “Adult’s Only” plays Scrooge Must Die and Little. She has also worked with the Open Fist Theater and the Ensemble Studio Theater. She received her MFA in playwriting from UCLA and her BA from Occidental College in Theater and Religious Studies.

The play features Mad Cat company members Erin Joy Schmidt Joe Kimble and Brian Sayre, Mad Cat newcomer Stephen Elliot Kaiser and three unidentified witches.
