Miami City Ballet presents Coppélia

Coppélia, choreography after Arthur Saint-Léon; Music by Léo Delibes, is a classical work that is considered ballet’s masterpiece of comedy. The ballet takes place in three acts. Franz loves Swanilda – except when he has eyes for Coppélia, who turns out to be a mechanical doll! The action is based on a libretto by Charles Nuitter and Arthur Saint-Léon, based on a story written by E.T.A. Hoffmann.

The charm and humor of this classic romantic comedy, plus the sheer joy of its Delibes score, have kept Coppélia in the repertory ever since its Paris premiere in 1870. It’s the perfect treat for audiences of all ages and a fitting finale to Miami City Ballet’s 26th season.
