From Apr 13th through Apr 16th, 2007Miami Fashion Week®, the official fashion event for the City of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County and the largest Latin American fashion event in the US, will dazzle spectators with signature designs on the catwalk. From April 13th to 16th, 2007, over 50 international designers from around the world including North, South and Central America, Spain, Italy, India and more will preview their spring 2007 collections to over 8,000 guests during the event. Drawing some of the most exciting new and established designers in the world, participants include MFW’s 2007 Special Guest and reciepient of the Designer of the Year Award, Hemant Sagar for Lecoanet Hemant from Paris and India. Colombia’s Cecilia Perez and Jeronima Palacio, Argentina’s Veronica de la Canal, Spain’s Maria LaFuente and Miami’s own Julian Chang and Nicolas Felizola to name just a few. Miami Fashion Week® will open with a spectacular Miami Style Showcase featuring the best emerging and established designers in Miami. Also featured will be showcases by graduating students of A.i. Miami International University of Art & Design and Universidad Autonoma Del Caribe from Barranquilla, Colombia. The four-day experience will be a whirlwind of events, including international business and trends seminars, celebrity appearances including Candela Ferro, Poncho de Anda, Pilar Montenegro, Sergio Catalan, Hamlet Garcia and Susana Gonzalez among others. Closing the week-long celebration will be the star-studded 2007 Miami Moda and Music Awards with special live performances by several Latin recording artists.
