Dan Zanes and Friends. Miami ArtsCarnival Center presents a fun-filled afternoon of sing-along songs for kids and families with Dan Zanes and Friends on November 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. The show is filled with folk music, rock tunes and danceable beats drawn from a wealth of musical traditions. For their Miami debut, Dan Zanes and Friends will perform hits such as Let’s Shake and Catch That Train from the 2007 Grammy Award-winning album Catch that Train.

Dan Zanes and Friends’ lineup at Carnival Center features Colin Brooks on drums, Sonia de Los Santos on guitar and vocals, John Foti on accordion, Saskia Lane on bass, Elena Moon Park on violin, and freestyle rhymes by Rankin Don, a.k.a. "Father Goose," who takes a hip-hop approach to classic nursery rhymes.

Before achieving star-status with kids, Zanes was the front man of the ‘80s rock band the Del Fuegos. Inspired by the birth of his daughter, Zanes launched his own record label and released Rocket Ship Beach in 2000, which became an immediate hit with families across America. Zanes successfully collaborated with Lou Reed and Aimee Mann on the album Night Time (2002) followed by Grammy Award-nominated House Party (2003), a rambunctious 20-song collection that includes Deborah Harry, Bob Weir, and Philip Glass, as well as the Rubí Theater Company.
