Diana Lowenstein exhibits Luis Gomez’ Gimme Shelter

Tue 30 May, 2017

Cuban artist Luis Gomez’ aesthetics explore the tensions around the concept of “canon”. Gomez sees art as an encounter between the spectator and the artwork, so he aims to recreate environments through installation, photography, drawing, painting or video; where the different media contribute to free the spectator from plain rationality and conceptual understanding.

Luis Gómez b. 1968 (Havana)Cuba. Graduate in 1991 of Insituto Superior de Arte(ISA), his work has been exhibited at National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana; in the 49 Esposizione Internazionale D´ARTE, Venice Biennale, Italy; The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, New York, EUA; The Ludwig Forum für Internationale Kunst, Aachen, Germany; The Barbican Center, London, UK, Art Bassel and Maastricht, among others.
