Wolfsonian Museum-FIU. October 18, 2013, 7:00 p.m.
Join New York-based architect and interior designer William T. Georgis , whose work Elle Decor describes as “uptown but impertinent”, for a free book signing and reception in The Wolfsonian’s café.
This first monograph on Georgis’s work, released by The Monacelli Press, presents sixteen houses and apartments in New York City, Long Island, Florida, Montana, and California. All the featured residences are designed around art collections and often include specially commissioned works.
Among the projects showcased are Georgis’s own homes, a smoked-glass townhouse in New York and a vacation house that hangs over the bay in La Jolla, California. Also included are Chinatown Brasserie, a theatrical eatery in lower Manhattan, and the interiors of the historic Lever House, a respectful restoration of a modern masterpiece.
