Miami Light Project is proud to present the 15th annual installment of our signature commissioning program Here & Now: 2014, A Knight Emerging Artist Series. This year’s installment features new performance works from Letty Bassart, Abel Cornejo, Ana Mendez, David Rohn and Danilo de la Torre, and an interactive multimedia installation from Juan Carlos Zaldivar.
Miami Light Project launched Here & Now in 1999 as the first-of-its-kind program dedicated to the commissioning of South Florida-based performing and multimedia artists. Since its inception, Miami Light Project has commissioned work from more than 70 South Floridian artists, whose work has contributed to the growing reputation of Miami as an internationally significant cultural center. Over 30 of those artists have gone on to perform works in 14 states and 15 countries for an estimated audience of 20,000 worldwide. Commissioned artists receive $2,000-$4,000 in honoraria, rehearsal spaces and production support.
Performances: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:00pm to 11:00pm running from May 8, 2014 through May 17, 2014
