Kinetic artist Olga Dueñas is presenting her new exhibition on November 16th at The Art Square, Miami. The Cleveland, Ohio, native has exhibited for almost half a century century in Ecuador, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Europe and the U.S.
‘Kinetic Momentum’ is comprised of 24 of her latest works of art. This new series of works reinforces Duenas’ vision of merging geometric patterns and virtual movement to create stunning works that entrance and beguile viewers, a technique she has mastered since the late 1960s.
The artist uses superimposed sets of parallel lines in order to incorporate movement into her abstract compositions. In words of the artist : ‘Forms and lines transition from fixed to moving, moving as the viewer moves. The movement dematerializes lines, introducing an elusive, ethereal element, approaching music, that intensifies one’s aesthetic experience of an artwork.’
