Candy, Pills and Guns – A False Sense of Security

Waltman Ortega Fine Art. Through October 3, 2012.

Waltman Ortega Fine Art is currently presenting “Candy, Pills and Guns A False Sense of Security”, a new exhibit comprised of the hyper- realistic oils by Philippe Huart, macro-photography by Olivier and Nathalie Borst, and sculptures by Alexander Durand.

The exhibition explores today’s society’s tendencies of overindulgence and addiction; a need in instant gratification, a quick fix, a rush, a booster, a downer. Often times leading to escapism, dependency, violence and death. Here candy becomes a symbol for the vices of men. Danger entices you and presents itself in various shapes and forms: candies, pills, and guns – deadly devices eternally tempting us.
