Collective Inventory presents Objects of Desire

Inaugural Design Exhibition. From Feb 12 through Mar 12, 2011.

altCollective Inventory is opening its inaugural design exhibition, “Objects of Desire” on February 12, 2011 in the Miami Design District. The exhibition will showcase a dynamic group of progressive thinkers from the world of design that embrace the concept of limited production manufacturing.

Curated by Thais Fontenelle, “Objects of Desire” features an array of works in a range of mediums and disciplines. The show is presented with the intent to provoke a reaction and play with contemporary notions of design and its role in stimulating the environment in which it exists. Installed within a space in the Buena Vista Building in the heart of Miami’s vibrant Design District, “Objects of Desire” will be a catalyst of thought and a visually arresting journey.

Collective Inventory is comprised of eleven artists and designers, both up and coming and established: Daniele Di Monte, Lemon Yellow, Berge Malikian, Luis Pons, Rita Mota, Victor Muñiz, Margi Nothard, Laz Ojalde, Paul Stoppi, Paloma Teppa, and Michelle Weinberg. Together they represent wildly different points of view and design sensibilities that when brought together create a cohesive, exciting and whimsical environment to experience.

Throughout the exhibition’s duration, weekly conversations between local art and design personalities and the show’s artists will be held. These sessions will be open to the public and are meant as a dialogue and forum of ideas. Featuring MAM Contemporaries as a special guest.
