Open Doors. Through September 1st, 2008.  Open Doors. Miami DesignOpen Doors presents Imaginary Land, Real World: Haiti, an exhibition by nineteen artists living in Miami, Florida and in Haiti. Curated by Trisha Brookbank, a total of forty-two works will be showcased until September 1st, 2008 at the contemporary tropical and transitional furniture boutique.

"Depictions of the country, traditions and people are painted with a sense of optimism and affection in this collection" said Brookbank. "The artists portray the energy and color of Haitian Diaspora in both photo-realistic and imaginary styles. From earth to electric tones, the spirit of these pieces adds yet another layer of culture and community to our artful space."

A portion of the proceeds from artwork sales will be donated to At Risk Children Foundation, whose mission is to provide a home, food, clothing, healthcare, spiritual needs and education to improve the quality of life of Haiti’s orphaned children.
