April 13th through April 14th, 2011. 7:30 p.m. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County proudly presents An Evening With Dame Edna!

September 2010. Miami Contemporary Dance Company (MCDC) announced that Artistic Director Ray Sullivan has traveled to Italy from August 26th to September 20th as part of a cultural exchange of six years between Miami Contemporary Dance Company and Balleto Dell’Esperia

Sept 18th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. My House is Your House dance-drama explores the functionality of individuals within a unit such as a family or a community.

From Oct 2011 through May 2012. After closing the season with great success, and touring internationally during the summer, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is gearing up for an exciting new season starting in October.

Sept 17th and 18th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. Hot out of their appearance on Comedy Central’s Tosh.0 and starring in VH1’s Money Hungry, Miami’s homegrown comedy duo, “A Pair of Nuts,” are coming home for two shows. Yamil Piedra and Johnny Trabanco are bringing their live show to the Area Stage Company for the first time.

Miami’s Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts opened the XXV International Hispanic Theater Festival (IHTF) this summer season, presented by Teatro Avante and American Airlines.

Although I cannot take credit away from the great contemporary playwrights and directors of our time, I think we could certainly agree that more often than not, a play’s success depends on the quality of its actors just as much as on the quality of its writing.

Sept 21st, 2010. 9:00 p.m. Join the Naked Stage for a one night only presentation of Open Mic Storytelling. Share a story – personal or not.

2010-2011. True to its mission of “Providing the South Florida community with classical, contemporary and new theatrical productions of artistic excellence”, GS is ready for yet another new season full of theatrical surprises. Here is a glimpse of the upcoming 2010-2011 season:

2010 – 2011. New Theatre’s 25th Anniversary season continues to fulfill our mission “to produce vibrant theatre that stimulates, provokes, challenges, and entertains by cultivating ‘New Voices- New Works and the Classics’” while bringing to life its theme for this season “overcoming adversity”.

From Aug 14th through Sept 12th, 2010. When their young son has his first sleepover, Adam and Jan are allowed the first night alone together in their Brooklyn brownstone in years. 

Miami Light Project. Sept 25th, 2010. “The Roots y El Tiempo” performance, under the direction and choreography of the internationally recognized professor Manolo Micler, will bring to life an energetic and colorful journey through Cuban rhythms – story of Cuba told through breathtaking dance and music.

Michelle Rosenfarb’s The Gates of Choice. August 15th, 2010. 7:30 p.m. Local playwright and Carbonell Award nominee, Michelle Rosenfarb, was recently accepted into the MFA Dramatic Writing Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and will commence this prestigious program in the fall.

From Aug 5th through 29th, 2010. The Women’s Theatre Project presents the US Premiere of “Wicked Sisters” by Alma DeGroen. Directed by Genie Croft and starring Linda Bernhard, Elizabeth Dimon, Miki Edelman and Jude Parry.

October 4th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. Naked Stage founders Katherine Amadeo and John Manzelli invite the public to the inaugural event of the 2010 South Florida Theatre Festival.

July 2010. This summer, when most companies are on break for a couple months, the dancers and staff of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida are grabbing their passports and packing their bags, as they head to several different countries.

From Jul 9th through Aug 2010. Playwright Ernesto Garcia returns to the Miami stage with his new play “Ode to Torture” which opens on July 9th, 2010 at Teatro en Miami Studio with actors Jorge Hernandez, Sandra Garcia, Leandro Peraza, and Alain Casalla.

From Jul 7th through Sept 5th, 2010. After the success that accompanied Caldwell Theatre’s 2009 Summer season, Artistic Director Clive Cholerton has chosen again to counter program against traditional summer fare, and will produce a World premiere in Joel Gross’s highly emotional romantic drama, The Comfort of Darkness, preceded by the Southeastern premiere of Bob Clyman’s successful comedic thriller, Secret Order.

July 2010. College students from the New World School of the Arts Dance Division will attend the New Prague Dance Festival in the Czech Republic from July 1st to July 8th, 2010. 

June 27th, 2010. 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. The Summer Showcase series is an annual event where all levels of Ballet Etudes School come together to perform in a themed production. What makes this series standout is the wide variety of dance styles featured.
