Actor’s Playhouse Nov 15th through Dec 31st, 2006The Miracle Theatre gets its first brush of snow with the Florida Premiere of the musical comedy Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. With music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by David Ives and Paul Blake, the stage production is based on the Paramount picture film by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama, and Melvin Frank. White Christmas is the story of a team of song and dance men who finish their stint in the Army in ’44 and head back to civilian life to become huge stars. They meet up with the sister act of Betty and Judy Haynes and follow the girls up to a Vermont Inn where they are booked at a ski lodge run by the guys’ former commanding officer. The inn has fallen on hard times because there is no snow and their appearance is key to create the icy phenomenon. With romance, song and dance, the show folk find a solution to the general’s post-war malaise by planning a show at the inn on Christmas Eve. The 25-member cast sings and dances their way into our hearts under the direction of director David Arisco. The creative team includes Choreographer Chrissi Ardito, Music Director Kevin Wallace, Set Designer Jeff Quinn and Costume Designer Ellis Tillman among others.
