Miami Beach Community Health Center (MBCHC), a recognized comprehensive not-for-profit health care network for Miami-Dade County residents, is inviting artists to participate in Through The Eyes of Love, a juried art exhibition that will offer a way for artists to show the depth of their thoughts and feelings as it relates to HIV/AIDS.
Artists can submit paintings, sculptures and photographs to depict how this disease has changed the lives of so many around the world. The submission deadline for artists is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009.
Held in honor of World AIDS Day on December 1st and in partnership with ArtCenter South Florida, MBCHC’s Through the Eyes of Love will be free and open to the public on Miami Beach (address to be announced) from Tuesday, December 1st through Sunday, December 20th, 2009. An opening reception is planned for Monday, November 30th, 2009.
“We were so amazed by the great response from last year’s exhibition with more than 100 artists showing their works of art,” said Kathryn Abbate, CEO of Miami Beach Community Health Center. “This awareness event again will shed more light on this disease and offer hope as there are viable treatment options allowing people to lead productive lives.”
MBCHC provides Miami-Dade residents with free HIV testing and ongoing HIV/AIDS medical care, plus is an enrollment site for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) that provides free medication for patients living with HIV/AIDS.
