Through this exhibition, MDC Museum of Art +Design pays tribute to one of Miami’s homegrown pioneers through a retrospective of pivotal works spanning his prolific career: Robert Huff.
In 2014, the Miami art community mourned the great loss of Robert Huff, an exceptional artist and teacher to many. Spanning nearly fifty years, the two- and three-dimensional works in Robert Huff: 47 Years traces the aesthetic development of artist and longtime Miami resident. Huff drew inspiration for his painted and constructed works from the natural landscape and from architecture, re-casting these elements to form a personal vocabulary of abstraction. The works selected celebrate the remarkable consistency apparent in Huff’s vision throughout many years.
