William Cordova at MDC Museum of Art + Design

William Cordova (b. Lima, Peru) earned his Master of Fine Arts from Yale University in 2004, his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996 and attended MDC’s North Campus. He has participated in multiple artist residencies, including Artspace, San Antonio, Texas; The Core program, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; and the Studio Museum, Harlem, N.Y. Cordova has presented numerous solo exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally, and has participated in group exhibitions at MoMA PS1 in New York City and the Menil Collection in Houston. He was also included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial at Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.

swing/SPACE/miami was organized by the MDC Museum of Art + Design and Associate Curator and Director of Campus Galleries at Miami Dade College, Wanda K. Texon. Artists are nominated and selected by an independent Curatorial Advisory Committee composed of college faculty and local arts professionals.
