From Jan 19th through Feb 16th, 2008.
Twenty original oil paintings on canvas, paper, and plexi-glass by Texas artist Kathleen Earthrowl will be on display at Leche-Vitrines Art Alliance through February 2008.  This new body of work by Kathleen Earthrowl, reminiscent of Wolf Kahn, shows movement, vigorous brushstrokes, and a sublime serenity in abstracted, yet representational landscapes. The viewer can recognize a stick or branch or the delicate curve of a shoreline.

Earthrowl is described as an expressionist and colorist. She is a 'sensuous colorist' meaning that all the senses become a part of her painting experience. Her paintings are vibrant yet soothing, often described as healing and calming. Her refined constructions of color and light create a world of timeless beauty. 'The work radiates an air of spiritual transcendence.
Earthrowl's Spiritual Screens are one of a kind. Purely abstract, she is painting in oil on plexi-glass and framing in steel. The screens may be joined together or stand separately and can be commissioned to accent a particular color scheme. Colors are continually moving and changing in vibrancy due to the transparency of the medium. Existing light plays a dramatic part, giving the work a healing nature.
