Tresart Gallery

Fans and Shadows. From Oct 3rd through Nov 6th, 2008.  Tresart Gallery. Miami ArtsTresart, in collaboration with Galeria de Arte Mexicano, will be exhibiting visceral found object sculptures and abstract paintings by Mary Stuart, an American living and working in Mexico. The artist will be attending the event.

Inspired by practicing deep meditation, the work is an accumulation of objects gathered and put together over a year’s time with a combination of joy and serendipity. A fallen branch from a palm tree, small golden charms of Buda, pearls, charred pieces of sandalwood fans and a baby starfish all come together to be transformed in her studio. Mary empowers the objects she personally discovers and changes them into unparalleled works of art.
