From Aug 27th through Sept 27th, 2009. New Theatre kicks of its 2009-2010 season with Shakespeare’s comedy, The Taming of the Shrew adapted by Roberto Prestigiacomo. This classic battle-of-the-sexes romp is the tale of a shrewish woman and her strong-willed husband, both causing havoc on the conventions of courtship and marriage.

Speed-The-Plow. From Aug 15th through Sept 13th, 2009. GableStage at the Biltmore announced their final production of the 2008-2009 Season, David Mamet’s Speed-The-Plow, which opened on August 15th and will run through September 13th, 2009.

A series of three episodic staged comedies based on the preposterous adventures of two Miami “Reggaetoners”. Born and raised somewhere west of the Palmetto, Tito and Che-Frio are The Toners, an unknown Reggaeton band trying to become superstars.

GagleStage. From Jun 20th through Jul 19th, 2009. This riotous comedy, produced at Lincoln Center last season, centers around three delicious characters – a super-flamboyant Palm Beach TV host, a Jewish mother from Long Island, and a cheery Midwestern craftswoman – who collide in New York City under surprising circumstances.  The hilarious results demonstrate just where our New Century might be heading.

June 2009. Vladimir Issaev, Artistic Director of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida continues his energetic journey by taking his troupe to Odense, Denmark, where the company will participate in the V International Dance Festival.
